wowee what a stinky year…

I could go through all the reasons why I had to step back from art in extremely boring detail, telling you my sob story about personal things happening in my life and how it all took a toll on me. But that won’t achieve anything. So I’m just going to post this piece I finished a while ago, and hope that you enjoy.

I hope you all have a much better 2024, and remember to always prioritise yourself and your health. It’s a lesson I’m starting to learn now, and am hoping it’s going to help build a more sustainable relationship with my art from now on.

oops forgot to post this last month but I recently turned 20, and wanted to reflect on what (almost) 2 decades of art looked like.
We've been clearing out our house atm (hence the lack of art) which gave me the opportunity to collect all my artwork and just look at the progress I had actually made. It was really rewarding to see that every single piece of art no matter how "bad" had a purpose in strengthening and building my art skills to the way they are today. Obviously my journey has only just started, but it's both exciting and daunting to know that so much can change and I can't wait to see what that change brings.

This piece portrays what lies ahead if we continue to demonstrate negligence to towards our actions and the consequences they hold, by considering what will remain to represent and remember our existence.
